I was born in Chicago, IL. From a young age, I fell in love with music immediately; singing and performing. At 15, I acquired an acoustic guitar and was swept away…spending long hours teaching myself the music of my favorite artists. At 17, I formed a rock cover band, and played local area bars and hangouts. After moving to Davenport, IA to attend St. Ambrose University and pursue a degree in Psychology, I started a 4 piece original jam band called The Fresh Jive Revival. We played local vibrant parties, and area venues. I also joined a University jazz combo, furthering my knowledge and love affair with Jazz and Fusion. Through that endeavor, I started a 7 piece funk/jazz band with local musicians, playing festivals including the Bixe Festival, a jazz festival commemorating the life of local legend Bixe Biderbecke. In 2012, I moved to South Florida to live near the ocean and continue my social work career; working for an agency devoted to ending homelessness in West Palm Beach. As a multi-instrumentalist, and a songwriter, I continue honing my guitar playing craft and am proud to bring these skills to The Jon Greco Band.
